Notice to ALL City of Madison electric customers:

Weather permitting, and for approximately eight hours on (this) Sunday, December 21, 2014 Nebraska Public Power District will perform maintenance on the substation that feeds electricity to the City of Madison and Tyson Foods. As a result, City of Madison electric employees will be generating power to supply the residents and businesses inside the city limits of Madison. However, rural customers (who live outside Madison city limits) and the Tyson Foods plant will have no electric service for the duration of the maintenance operation.

This operation is scheduled to start at 9:00 am and end at approximately 5:00 pm, depending on the time it takes to complete all required tasks. All City of Madison electric customers may be subject to power interruptions or brief outages of service and are advised to unplug vulnerable electric or electronic devices.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, as this necessary maintenance is completed in order to provide our customers with reliable service.
